Shooting
Pentathlon

The Shooting Pentathlon is the oldest and, at the same time, the most complex sport-defense competition organized by the association. It is a team competition for three-member squads representing individual reserve soldiers’ clubs and consists of five competitive disciplines: large-caliber pistol shooting, three-position shooting with a semi-automatic rifle vz. 58, grenade throwing, combat pistol shooting, and a shooting duel.

History Of The
Competition

The first edition of the competition took place in 1993, which is also the year when our association was founded after separating from its federal predecessor. The shooting multi-event was preceded by KDPZ competitions, which had a slightly different format.

The competition has more than thirty years of history and has remained practically unchanged since its inception, with only minor adjustments over time.

Competition Disciplines

The Shooting Pentathlon consists of five distinct disciplines that test the comprehensive skills of every competitor.

Large-Caliber Pistol
Shooting

Shooting with a standard large-caliber pistol at 25 meters at a 50/20 sport target in three series of five rounds, each fired within 2 minutes.

Three-Position Shooting
with Rifle vz. 58

Shooting with a semi-automatic rifle vz. 58 in its original configuration at 100 meters. Ten rounds are fired from each of the three positions: prone, standing, and kneeling.

Grenade
Throwing

Throwing a grenade for accuracy into a designated zone. The throwing distances vary depending on gender and age category.

Combat Pistol
Shooting

Combat shooting with a pistol at five “Pepper Popper” falling targets placed at distances from 30 to 50 meters (in 5-meter increments).

Shooting
Duel

A shooting duel of three-member teams using small-caliber rifles at 50 meters at falling targets (similar to those used in biathlon).
