The Association is open to every citizen of the Slovak Republic with an interest in defence-oriented sport shooting activities, and works in close cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic and other organisations of a similar nature. Its extensive sport shooting and defence-related programme is particularly well-suited to graduates of the National Defence Forces training.
As a proud partner of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic, we are pleased to introduce the National Defense Forces project. This new initiative aims to enhance the resilience and defense readiness of our country through broader involvement of the civilian population — not only in relation to military threats, but especially in fulfilling crisis-management tasks, as well as in responding to natural disasters and various types of emergency situations. At the same time, participants interested in training have the opportunity to improve their physical and mental preparedness and to acquire new skills. The purpose of our activities is to build a community — a community of individuals who share an interest in shooting and defense-oriented sports. People who wish to meet at public sporting events and test their skills in a competitive environment. Individuals committed to creating optimal conditions for the further development of the community and the expansion of its activities. Our community is a blend of current and former members of the armed forces, elite sport shooters, passionate amateurs, and beginner shooters who wish to advance their skills to an intermediate or advanced level.

Technical shooting disciplines focused on precision shooting (“bullseye shooting”) with both short and long firearms.
Timed disciplines combining elements of technical and dynamic shooting. Rapid-fire shooting with a stationary shooter.
Dynamic shooting disciplines of a defensive nature, conducted within a defined course of fire (stage/obstacle course) with the shooter in motion.
Shooting competitions composed of multiple types of disciplines, aimed at testing the shooter’s versatility and overall proficiency.
The Slovak Association of Reservists (SAR) organises a large number of shooting competitions of various types each year. Competitions organised by SAR carry a qualifying status and culminate in the official Slovak Championships. In addition, throughout the year many of the member clubs organise their own cup events, memorial competitions, or club-level contests. The Association is, after the Slovak Shooting Federation, the second most active sport shooting organisation in the country, covering disciplines of primarily a defence-sports nature.
The activities of the Slovak Association of Reservists extend beyond the borders of Slovakia. The Association actively participates in international organisations of a similar nature, and both organises and takes part in international shooting competitions.
It is a full member of the Gaming Initiative Europe (GIE) – an international non-governmental non-profit association of national associations of reserve officers and soldiers of European countries – at whose deliberations it represents the Slovak Republic and conveys its official positions on the individual defence and security topics under discussion.
Our Association regards cooperation across the entire shooting community in Slovakia as key.
